Congratulations to Our 2023 TV Fellowship Winner, Annie C. Wright!

We’re thrilled to introduce our 2023 TV Fellowship winner, Annie C. Wright, whose winning original comedy pilot, BYE LINES, impressed us with its vibrant voice and wit. In BYE LINES, after years of people-pleasing at her own expense, Mel decides to live vicariously through her dying clients by offering to deliver their parting words to all the people who ever wronged them.

As this year’s TV Fellowship winner, Annie receives free tuition and housing for this year’s retreat as well as a private advisory session at the retreat with all the mentors, who include working Hollywood agents, managers, producers, development executives, showrunners, and other pros. In addition, Annie receives a cash prize of $1,000 and a 12-month fellowship program with two of our mentors.

Annie C. Wright is a comedy writer, a sometimes director, and a card-carrying member of the Dramatists Guild of America who’s currently serving as the Comedy Fellow in the 2023 FOX Writers Incubator!

Annie has a degree in English that she’ll be paying off for the foreseeable future, and has sharpened her TV writing chops at UCLA Extension, UCB, and the Second City. Her original pilot, BUDS, based on her experience working in healthcare, was selected for the second round of the Sundance Episodic Lab and was nominated for a Jury Award at the Austin Film Festival. She’s also a three-time Telly Award winning content creative who may have written some of the streaming ads you’ve opted to skip!
