If you’ve lost track of dates and days lately, you may have missed yesterday’s deadline for our 2023 TV Retreat & Fellowship Contest.

Never fear – we’ve decided to keep the contest open for submissions until MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st!

QUALIFY TO ATTEND THE RETREAT

Entering the contest is the only way to get the chance to attend CineStory’s 2023 TV retreat on April 29 – May 2. Retreat attendees receive three 90-minute one-on-one sessions with CineStory mentors, participate in “informal rooms,” socialize with other attendees and mentors, and attend other special events. In addition, attendees participate in a mock Drama and a mock Comedy writers’ room so they can experience what it is like inside an actual TV writers’ room.

QUALIFY TO WIN THE FELLOWSHIP

All entrants are also considered for our CineStory Fellowship, who receives a prize valued at $5,000 USD that includes free tuition and lodging to the TV Retreat, a $1,000 cash prize, and a 12-month mentorship from 2 industry mentors to help enhance the Fellow’s career path.

TESTIMONIALS FROM TV RETREAT ALUMS

“I loved CineStory. I made meaningful connections with other writers, mentors, and staff, and I got some insight into the industry that I would not otherwise get.  The mentors that I had were spot on for what I wrote and so accomplished! I felt truly honored to get their insight. The staff were also great and they all offered insights based on their industry experience as well. By the end of the retreat I felt restored and re-energized.” — Iuli Dia

“The CineStory TV retreat gave me the space to receive professional notes on scripts I’ve written and want to improve, in addition to putting me in the same space as like-minded writers…” – Danielle Schwartz

“What I loved so much about CineStory wasn’t just improving upon my writing skills, but also that it’s such a nurturing and supportive environment. You will get torn down but you will also be lifted up and set up for success.” – Sara Dolin

“One of the things that I think the CineStory retreat does so well is speaking to, and educating, both the artist and the businessperson in every writer…CineStory truly speaks to both the art and the business of writing. And not just in a fun or catch slogan way, they legitimately nurture writers in the art and business of television writing.

“[Also, the] fact that the mentors take such an immense amount of time and interest in your work makes the feedback so unbelievably valuable. I’m honestly still impressed with the closeness of their reading and the depth and nuance of their feedback. It’s so clear that all of the mentors genuinely want to help every writer further their writing and careers, and their support coupled with their insight made for a truly invaluable experience.” — Robert Axelrod
