Meet Our 2024 Feature Fellowship Winner

We’re thrilled to introduce our 2024 Feature Fellowship winner, Judith Posey, whose screenplay THE BELLS impressed us with its complex characters and insightfulness.

Taking place on an island off the coast of Maine over a late summer long weekend, THE BELLS tells the story of three sisters as they struggle to find common ground after their mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s and recent death.

As this year’s Feature Fellowship winner, Judy receives free tuition and housing for this year’s retreat as well as a private advisory session at the retreat with all the mentors. In addition, she receives a cash prize of $10,000 and a 12-month fellowship program with two of our mentors.

After years of working as a producer in the music video and commercial world, Judy found her way to independent film through a group of friends making a series of low budget short films. Shortly thereafter, Judy assisted a co-worker in the props department on a small psychological thriller starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. Judy quickly learned how a good props department supports the actors, aiding their performance and filling the story’s world with functional details. Years later, Judy now works as a Prop Master out of IATSE local 52 in New York City. Her credits include HBO’s “Search Party,” Amy Schumer’s series “Life & Beth,” and psychological thriller “Eileen” starring Anne Hathaway.  A lifelong writer, Judy’s ambitions to make her own films are shaped daily through Prop Mastering as she has the incredible opportunity to work with some of today’s top actors and filmmakers.

Congratulations again to Judy!
